Memorandum of Understanding Signed with Boy’s & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong

Support! International Foundation, today (13 August 2018), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA). A small ceremony and gathering was hosted to celebrate the occasion, with senior members of both organisations in attendance.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Foundation’s Signing Representative and Member of the Board of Directors Ir Wai Chi-Sing, GBS JP remarked, “Today we establish a partnership with an organisation that shares our same hopes and goals”. He continued, “With BGCA, we will be able to grow and enhance our programme offerings to primary school beneficiaries”. Ms Francisca Lam, the Foundation’s Vice President, Operations (Primary Programmes), offered her excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead. She said, “We’ve been working with BGCA through various channels for over two years, and now, we feel it is the right time to consolidate it and establish grounds for greater collaboration”.

With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Foundation and BGCA will co-establish two more education programme sites, namely at our existing Chinese International School Site and our to-be established Renaissance College Hong Kong Site. The English through STEAM programme will be offered. In addition, there will be frequent field trips and outdoor explorations to enable students to engage in inquiry-based learning.

At the end of the ceremony, Ir Wai, noting that this was President Joseph Wan’s last event in his official capacity, presented the Foundation with a cheque donation, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joseph for his service over his four years here. He has been invaluable in advancing the issue of youth development in Hong Kong”. Mr Wan is succeeded as President by Mr Alex Yu, presently the Foundation’s President (Designate) and Vice President, Community Development. A press release can be found here.
